Vidyashilp Education Group, which has been a strong name in education since 1982, aimed tostep into the higher education space. The project focused on establishing a foundation for the University through a defined positioning, and a strategic visual and verbal plan
Objective
A university is not just a place of education, but an experience in itself. When we look at higher education, it is often perceived as an elite pipeline towards elite jobs, and huge expectations. But it goes much beyond that; it’s about planning for a transforming society, an exploration and extension of oneself, and all in all, a preparation for life.
However, despite the evolution in the Higher Education system, it is a proven truth that over 40% students learn little about life in college, and most of them don’t complete their programs either. Additionally, in an effort to be all things to all people, most institutes have developed a one-size-fits-all offering, that serve few well.
In the midst of this landscape, Vidyashilp Education Group, which has been a strong name in education since 1982, aimed to step into the higher education space. The legacy of Vidyashilp Educational Institutions stood for their approach towards excellence in Teaching, Research, Scholastic achievement and Global recognition. It is this legacy that they aimed to take forward by solving the emerging challenges of globalizing higher education.
Thinking
As a part of tackling these challenges head on, Vidyashilp University was based on the guiding principles of liberal education. Each school under the University would not function in silos, but rather as a seamless and interdisciplinary system.
However, in light of the NEP 2020, and the rising number of institutes offering interdisciplinary education, there was an additional challenge of awareness and understanding among several stakeholders; including students, parents, and even the industry at large. We also identified that most Universities placed themselves at the center of their students’ worlds, making it an aspiration or a dream to live as part of their ecosystem. It focused more on the journey of the student while at a university, as opposed to their journey beyond.
Solution
The idea of ‘Vidyashilp’ at its core, was to ‘sculpt education’. Using this as a premise, we built a brand with the foundation of placing the student at the center of the University.
The student, defined as ‘YOU’ is unique in his/her own aspect. Vidyashilp University was established to look beyond the labels of a businessman/woman, architect, designer, or engineering, but rather at students as active participants in shaping the future. It is this uniqueness that would further be cultivated by the university, sculpting education to be their springboard towards success.
This end vision of propelling every individual towards their respective visions stood as common goal for the university to come together and say, “We are ‘With YOU’.”
